HIGHPOINT POWDER COATING (and media blasting) is a full service powder coating job shop. Powder coating is a process in which fine powdered paint is positively charged electrically using specially designed equipment and applied to negatively charged or grounded metal parts. The charged powder sticks to the metal substrate and is then baked in our 8’w(x)8’h(x)14’d oven at approximately 400 degrees melting the powder and forming a super durable finish.

Highpoint Powder Coating is equipped with a Colmet spray booth and a Colmet oven that is 8’ wide x 8’ high x 18’ deep. These dimensions allow us to powder coat large gates, full size car frames and other large items. The spray booth is equipped with a 3-stage filter system to keep errant powder from contaminating other parts that are being powder coated.

As it is with any painting or coating work, the preparation of the material to be coated is as important, if not more important than the coating itself. For this reason we have our own in-house blasting facility and don’t farm out our blasting to another company. There are many types of blast media (material) available to remove rust, paint, powder coating, mill scale, etc., from metal. We choose to use fine garnet and aluminum oxide which keeps pitting of the metal to a minimum. For paint removal from automobile bodies and other sheet metals we use soda or magnesium sulfate. Soda blasting will not heat, pit, or warp metal and leaves the metal surface as it was before it was painted. We also have a mobile soda blasting unit www.sodablastexpress.com.
